Chapter 127 The Power of the 4th Ring, Tensions Rise
"What is this? The end of the thunder is a blue fish? I've seen blue fish before, but this is the first time I've seen this type." The district lord has lived for thousands of years and is very knowledgeable, but he has never seen such a creature before. He stroked his chin, his eyes revealing doubt and vigilance, and leaned forward slightly, staring intently at Lin Wei in the mirror.
"I've never seen it before either. Perhaps a prodigy from the sea tribe has broken through here," said a second-ring wizard, the director of the Eternal Peak Sanctuary. He frowned, crossed his arms, and looked worried.
Many wizards shared their opinions, most expressing unease. Some shook their heads repeatedly, while others whispered amongst themselves, creating a tense atmosphere in the meeting room.
"Since the source of the lightning isn't us wizards, we must eliminate it beforehand," said Captain Lorther of the Sea Knight's ship, his voice righteous and resolute. He straightened his back, put his hands behind his back, and his eyes revealed a ruthless glint.
Tower Master Robert shrugged, unusually not contradicting him. He nodded slightly, his expression somewhat grave.
"With the majority of votes in favor, everyone continue to pour in your magic. I will manipulate the mirror to obliterate it." The district chief stroked his beard and said solemnly, "Destroying living beings in the thunder will cause backlash for everyone, but in order to resolve this threat ahead of time, we can only share the burden."
After saying that, he swelled up and became a middle-aged man, revealing the aura unique to a fourth-circle wizard.
His robes fluttered without wind, and his hair stood on end, as if a powerful force was surging within him.
Above the district lord's head, four solidified wizard rings intertwined, causing the surrounding seawater to surge and churn. The seawater seemed to be stirred by an invisible hand, forming huge whirlpools that emitted a rumbling sound.
The four wizarding rings lit up one after another in sequence, emanating a terrifying power that caused the space to tremble slightly. A force of hundreds of thousands of hertz was compressed around his body. The surrounding air was deformed by this immense power, emitting a hissing sound.
Apart from the fourth-ring wizard district lord, the other organization leaders all became serious, and the first or second ring appeared above their heads.
The wizards straightened their backs, their eyes revealing determination and resolve.
Captain Lorther of the Sea Knight's Ship possessed a three-ringed crown, a far cry from that of a district lord, but still far more dazzling than the other two-ringed wizards. A smug smile played on his lips, as if he were demonstrating his power to everyone.
"This guy." Tower Master Robert, who also had two wizard halos above his head, glanced at Lorther. He frowned slightly, his eyes revealing disdain.
However, his wizard aura was much more stable than the others, and a third aura was faintly appearing.
"You've got one foot in the top three, Robert. Is that what gives you the nerve to go against me?" Rossel looked at him and said sarcastically. He crossed his arms, his eyes full of provocation.
"Shut up and channel the energy in."
The district lord said coldly, and the wizards, following the previous method, all poured energy into the mirror. Streams of colorful magic shot from the wizards' wands, like dazzling ribbons, connecting to the mirror.
……
At the bottom of the water.
Lin Wei was already complaining incessantly, constantly flailing his fins in an attempt to escape the lightning's embrace. His fins thrashed about rapidly, splashing up white sprays of water, but the lightning seemed to be alive, clinging tightly to him.
"It's over, the tower masters are trying to kill me. I'm not a wizard apprentice anymore, I'm the sea race's prodigy they think can attract the strange phenomena... This is terrible, the Rubik's Cube has really ruined me."
Lin Wei had no idea how he was going to survive the attacks of so many formal wizards. His body trembled incessantly, and his eyes were filled with despair and helplessness.
Just as the mirror was about to unleash its attack, enormous creatures suddenly appeared on the sea, charging towards the wizards who were gathering their strength. Wherever these creatures passed, huge waves were churned up, like moving mountains.
A colossal creature even appeared beneath the mirror, a seashell materializing and knocking the mirror away. The seashell, like a giant shield, carried immense force, instantly sending the mirror flying through the air in an arc before crashing into the sea.
"Damn it, the sea creatures are out!" a second-ring wizard exclaimed. His eyes widened, a look of horror crossed his face, and he involuntarily took a few steps back.
A massive white clam, hundreds of meters long, appeared and spoke in the standard language of a wizard: "Marlow, do you intend to kill our fellow sea creatures, as if we don't exist?"
Marlowe was the district lord's name, and this was the first time he had been addressed by his first name. The district lord's face turned extremely ugly; he gripped his wand tightly, his body trembling slightly, as if suppressing the rage within him.
Beside the giant white clam stood a black crab hundreds of meters long, its body covered with countless smaller crabs. Next to the black crab, a slender, snake-like sea cucumber swayed, causing the seawater to surge into towering waves. These waves, like towering walls of water, pressed down on the wizards.
Behind the three colossal creatures, countless sea creatures floated on the surface, roaring at the wizards. The roars were deafening, as if they could shatter the sky, and layers of white foam rose from the sea.
"The Spirit Clam King, the Ghost Crab General, the Nine-Lives Sea Cucumber... This is going to be difficult." Tower Master Robert's face was grim. He frowned, his eyes revealing worry and helplessness, his hands gripping his wand tightly.
"The Spirit Clam King? Is that the Grand Commander of our Eastern Seventh District Sea Clan?" Dora's eyes widened. She covered her mouth, a look of surprise on her face, and involuntarily shrank back behind Tower Master Robert.
"Yes, this is a level four sea creature, a demon king, whose strength is no less than that of the district lord. They are old rivals." Tower Master Robert nodded. He gently patted Dora's shoulder, signaling her not to be afraid.
"And who are the other sea creatures? I sense they're quite strong too. Just one glance at them and I felt my mental energy become unstable," Dora continued. She gripped the tower master Robert's clothes tightly, her eyes filled with fear.
"Nine-Lives Sea Cucumber is the Grand Commander of the Sea Clan in the Ninth District of the East, and Ghost Crab General is the Grand Commander of the Sea Clan in the Tenth District of the East. They are both Level 4 Sea Clan members, both at the Demon King level." As Tower Master Robert spoke, he lightly tapped the mast beside him with his fingers, making a "bang bang" sound.
"Spirit Clam King, you've brought General Ghost Crab and Nine-Lives Sea Cucumber from another region. Are you here to start a war?" the district lord said coldly, arms crossed, his eyes gleaming with a defiant spirit. "Should I contact the district lords of East Ninth and East Tenth Districts for a massive three-district free-for-all?"
